Shopware dropshipping automation: 75% faster, near-zero errors
Shopware 6 dropshipping automation for a German shop. Multi-supplier routing, real-time stock sync, and a supplier portal. 75% faster orders.
The Challenge
A German dropshipping shop had grown from 50 orders a week to 500. The fulfilment process hadn't. Orders still moved by email, supplier choice still happened by gut, and the customer service team spent more time chasing tracking numbers than selling.
Critical Pain Points
- Orders went to suppliers one by one through email and CSV uploads
- Supplier choice was a manual call based on outdated stock files
- Stock visibility across suppliers lived in five different spreadsheets
- Customer status updates required someone to write each one by hand
- Order volume kept growing; the team couldn't hire fast enough to keep up
The bottleneck wasn't demand. It was the people-shaped layer between an order and a supplier. Every new sale created more work for the team than the order was worth.
The Solution
I built a fulfilment pipeline that takes a paid order and routes it to the right supplier with no human in the middle.
Multi-supplier routing
For each order, the system checks live stock across every supplier and picks the best one based on availability and cost.
Supplier self-service portal
Suppliers upload stock via CSV, see incoming orders, and update fulfilment status themselves. No email chain, no double entry.
Event-driven customer updates
Confirmation, dispatch, and tracking emails fire automatically as the order moves through the pipeline. Customers get more updates than before, with zero staff effort.
Operations dashboard
A single screen for orders in flight, supplier performance, and exception alerts. The team intervenes only when the system can't resolve something on its own.
Results & Business Impact
Orders process in minutes
What used to take hours of manual triage now happens automatically as soon as the customer pays.
Errors close to zero
Wrong-supplier sends and data-entry slips disappeared once humans were out of the routing loop.
Hands-off customer comms
Customers get faster, more consistent updates than they did when staff were writing each one.
4x volume, same headcount
The shop now handles four times the order volume with the original team. Hiring lag stopped capping growth.
